Island Vacation

THE CATS ARE ENJOYING AN ISLAND VACATION
The background was made from clip art that was printed, then the same picture was flipped and printed again, then the two pages were taped together. The palm tree on the beach is clip art, the edges were fringed with scissors after printing. The umbrellas and lounges are also made from clip art. The beach is salt with some sand mixed in. The blue water is paper overtop crumpled newspaper to give it some depth. I cut slits in it to make it look like the cats are actually in the water, as in the twins playing with the beachball and the cats wading at the shoreline. The beachball was a small styrofoam ball painted to look like a beachball and suspended in the air from a thin piece of floral wire.
